One of the most exceptional and extraordinary black teas you can find. Slightly spicy with very prominent citrus notes.
The Pathivara tea gardens rise up in the tall, misty mountains of Eastern Nepal. The remote area between 1800 and 2000 metres above sea level produces some of the most unique teas with a distinctive flavour and aroma similar to those of Darjeeling, its Indian neighbour.
Hybrids of Camellia sinensis sinensis (the original plants from China), the tea bushes here had been growing wild for a dozen years until, in 2012, the garden was rehabilitated to offer fantastic teas of superb quality. The gardens are surrounded by extensive virgin forests and the air here is fresh and totally pollution-free. Most of the teas that are produced here are made manually or with very little use of machinery, and are dried in the clean and pure free air. Our black Sunshine Pathivara tea was dried in the sun, as the name implies (the word "sunshine" translates to English as "sunlight"). It is a delicious black tea with an incredible and unusual natural citrus aroma, extraordinary orange flavour and a slight spicy touch of cinnamon.
